Latest news from Danske Fragtmænd October 2019

2 October 2019

Closed between Christmas and New Year 2020

This year, our terminals will once again be closed between Christmas and New Year because we experience minimal demand from our customers in the days after Christmas. That is why, our first working day after Christmas will be 2 January 2020.

If you want to make sure that your goods will arrive before Christmas, remember that our last delivery deadline is 20 December 2019.

If you require urgent shipping or have special transport needs between Christmas and New Year, you should contact your ordinary contact person to discuss the options for transporting your goods.

From 1 January 2020, the capacity surcharge is included in the freight price

So far, Danske Fragtmænd has had a capacity surcharge in addition to ordinary freight. This surcharge was introduced because we were experiencing shortage of transport capacity on the main road network as well as shortage of qualified drivers. Conditions have not changed significantly since the introduction of the capacity surcharge, which is why from 1 January 2020 it will be included in our regular prices.

No more "blue consignment notes" from the turn of the year

Approximately 99 percent of all our consignment notes are sent electronically. This minimises the risk of errors and gives our customers full tracking of their shipment from the moment their consignment note is created. The remaining percentage is the so-called "blue consignment notes". In the past few years, we have been focusing on phasing out the "blue consignment notes" because they slow down the digital development of Danske Fragtmænd and put unnecessary strain on the environment. This is exactly why we have decided to stop using "blue consignment notes" as of 1 January 2020.

I still need the "blue consignment notes", what do I do now?

If you belong to the one percent who still use the "blue consignment notes", after 1 January 2020 you will have two options:

  1. Danske Fragtmænd has a booking system, WebFragt, where you can fill out an electronic consignment note instead. If you are not registered in WebFragt yet, you can contact our WebFragt team at webfragt@fragt.dk. The service is completely free of charge and gives you several benefits such as complete overview of the shipping route to the recipient.
  2. If you do not wish to use our electronic booking system, you can also send an email to our customer service to book your consignment. However, please note that we charge an administration fee of DKK 60 per consignment note.

You are always welcome to contact your ordinary contact person at Danske Fragtmænd or our customer service, if you have any questions.

Your customers will soon be able to sign consignments electronically

We, at Danske Fragtmænd, are currently engaged in extensive digitisation of our business. As part of the digitalisation process, we will be testing electronic receipts now and in the coming months. In other words, in the future, your customers will not have to sign a consignment note physically, but can instead directly put their signature on the driver's PDA. As a customer, you will no longer have to wait for us to scan the consignment note. You will, however, be able to see a receipt as well as any reservations only a few minutes after your customer has acknowledged the delivery. We expect to have implemented electronic signing for all our customers by the end of the year.
